Some of the services that a Turf Advisory Service visit include are:

On-Site Course Visit

This is the focal point of Green Section activity. Our goal is to help the golf course superintendent and Green Committee by providing the most practical turfgrass and golf course management information at the level of expenditure available at the facility. Each agronomist on the staff visits more than 130 courses annually, a service unmatched by any other organization.

Written Report

The report provides a permanent record of observations made during the on-site visit and the recommendations for continued development, both short and long term.

Year-Round Consultation

If questions or problems arise, calls are welcome any time. Particularly challenging problems will be discussed with other staff agronomists who face similar situations in their region.

Agronomic Reprints and Publications

A wide range of topics are available through your local Green Section office or Golf House. Recent additions include the USGA Recommendations for Putting Green Construction.

Regional Newsletter

In many regions a Regional newsletter is published several times a year containing pertinent regional information on golf and turf management topics.

Full-day and Half-day visits are available. The fees for the service in 2008 are:

Regular Fee With Pre-May 15 Discount*
Half-Day Visit $2,000 $1,700
Full-Day Visit $2,700 $2,400

* Payment has to be received by the USGA office by 5/15/08 for the discount to apply.
