Golf and golf course maintenance practices are constantly changing as a result of many factors including environmental considerations, increasing play, the increasing cost of maintenance, improved grasses and construction materials and so on. As a result, almost every course will attempt some type of construction or renovation project every few years. Although every project is different and must be fitted to the particular course on which it is to be attempted, there is no need to reinvent the wheel every time. Case studies of projects that have already been successfully completed are at the very least extremely helpful starting points during the planning phases and can often provide a step-by-step sequence that will prove invaluable during the project itself.
